"There's not much doubt in any of our minds that no complete idea springs fully formed from our brow,
needing only a handshake and a signature on the contract to send it off into the world to make twenty-five billion dollars.
The germ of the idea grows slowly..." - Walt Kelly

The uptake

Day One: Write a poem that has the same first line as another poem. I've used the first line from Babel (the voices) by Jessica Beyer.

There is, as you know, only one story.
It's the one that begins and ends
in the same place - a loud darkness
bereft of genius. But not all science
is gone here. There is a good thought
somewhere between the Higgs Boson
and the decision to stay up too late
watching reruns of Adam West Batman.
